Who Is StaciJoy?

I am a holistic nurse in private practice with over 25 years of experience in helping others find simple ways to manage their health challenges.

My professional journey began when I was eight years old, when my mother was studying prerequisite courses to become a nurse. One day my mother brought home a cadaver cat and she and her lab partner began to dissect the cat on our family room floor. This changed my path forever.

Fascinated by animal anatomy and physiology, I often sketched anatomical structures of the heart, kidney, and other organs from my mother’s textbooks for her to study in preparation for her exams. I knew at an early age that I would be working with the human body in some way on some level.

It did not become clear until I took a course to become a certified babysitter at age 11 that included a CPR certification. This is where my healthcare journey began. This was the defining moment for the rest of my life. This was when I discovered that my calling was to become a nurse.

I passed my State Board examination as a Registered Nurse at the age of 21 and worked the night shift full time as a young staff nurse on a medical-surgical unit at Western Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center in Santa Ana, California.

My ultimate goal was to work my way into the Trauma/Emergency Department. After one year as a medical-surgical nurse, I found myself running full time with the Big Dogs in the Trauma Unit and loving every minute of it. I was full throttle and oozing with adrenaline every day on the job.

I cruised steady at this pace for eight years while I got married, finished my BS Degree in Nursing, earned my credential in holistic nursing and had my first of three children.

I hit a road block in my career as I was becoming increasingly disillusioned with the current healthcare system. I did not understand why pharmaceutical and surgical interventions were so prevalent, when what we needed more of was education about the power of prevention. So I set out to make a difference in this place and started my independent holistic nursing practice. I have never looked back since.

My nursing practice has been evolving over the years, but my gifts and strengths seem to be in the area of helping others find simple, easy and affordable ways to improve their health. It’s as simple as that.

If you suffer with heart disease, arthritis, cancer, autoimmune disorders, low energy, obesity or ADD, there is hope for you. It’s my job to help you through the process of feeling better so you can fulfill your potential as a human being living in our modern world.
